Background:
Ten years after its launch, Paris-based brand Eldvarm introduces Fumi, a new fireplace set that combines simple design, fine craftsmanship, and warmth. Designed in collaboration with French designer Guillaume Delvigne, the collection marks a thoughtful evolution for the Swedish homeware label founded by Louise Varre in 2015.
Varre’s journey began with a simple realisation during her years in the fireplace industry – that beautifully designed, high-quality fireside tools were almost impossible to find. This led to Eldvarm’s first collection, Emma, a handmade set with brass fittings and natural bristles. Its simple and useful design caught the eye of major stores like The Conran Shop and Skandium, making Eldvarm known for its modern fireplace style.
Ten years later, Fumi represents how people’s relationship with the hearth has evolved. With more homes now choosing compact stoves and inserts, Delvigne’s simple and refined design meets the need for smaller, space-friendly tools without losing beauty or function. The new series features a brush, shovel, and log holder, all crafted from powder-coated steel and solid wood, joined with visible brass screws, a detail that emphasises durability and repairability. “If something breaks, you can replace the part. It’s not meant to be thrown away,” says Delvigne.
Inspired by Japanese design, Fumi features a smooth V-shaped form that combines elegance with warmth. The curved handle doubles as a hook, and wooden accents bring a warm, natural feel. Available in soft colors like off-white, rust brown, and charcoal, Fumi shows Eldvarm’s simple, natural style.
Each piece is made by skilled makers in France and Poland and carefully put together by Eldvarm’s small team for the best quality.
For Varre, Fumi is more than design; it brings back the warmth of gathering by the fire, a tradition that has connected people for centuries.
