London-based studio Everything Now Design has completed the first residential work in Islington, which turned a normal apartment into a cozy and personal house. The studio was established in 2022 by Royal College of Art graduates Thomas Phillips and Henry Chesney, who combine architectural accuracy with handcrafted interiors, and this project presents their entire vision.
Visitors entering the apartment first encounter a custom, undulating walnut-wood corridor, designed to create a feeling of cocooning. According to Phillips, it is a narrow tube that leads into the bright living spaces. With a corridor, it sets the atmosphere of the apartment in terms of warmth, personality, and style.
The project included layout reconfiguration, bespoke furniture, and fully customized interiors. Each room has custom-made furniture, including a long bedroom cabinet, a dining table, and hanging lights inspired by airplane wings. Chesney, with experience in ceramics and brick-making, added handmade terracotta tiles and ceramic vases to give the home texture and character.
Phillips and Chesney designed the apartment to suit how people would live in it, replacing the beige colors with timber, natural materials, and thoughtful tones to make the space feel warm and inviting.
Through architectural drawings all the way to the details, the duo collaborated, and their respective skills came together to produce a complementary product, an apartment that looks like it has been curated and lived in at the same time. The outcome indicates their mission of creating spaces that are functional and beautiful.
