Background:
Dallas Market Center announced a major expansion of its Interior Home + Design Center (IHDC), adding over 100 home décor brands to new, custom-designed showrooms. This project represents the largest development of new showroom spaces at the center in more than ten years.
Work is already in progress on the first showroom, C. Maddox & Co., which will feature more than 30 home furnishings brands. A 40,000-square-foot flagship showroom on the second floor is scheduled to open this spring. Additional showrooms currently located on the 9th floor will be relocated, allowing that level to be converted into flexible tradeshow space for events throughout the year.
“These new spaces highlight our dedication to the home décor industry,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “With demand for permanent showroom space increasing, these brands will gain more visibility with designers and retailers. Meanwhile, our temporary tradeshow offerings will continue to expand, with the 9th floor serving as a hub for trade events year-round.”
The expansion builds on the 2016 renovation and rebranding of the IHDC, which updated both the interior and exterior while retaining the building’s classic mid-century design. The center currently hosts daily showrooms from brands including Visual Comfort, Currey & Co, Surya, Palecek, Global Views, and American Leather. Multi-brand showrooms such as Coco & Dash and MC Studio, along with shared spaces like The Gallery and Textile Salon, offer a broad selection of home décor products, including furniture, fabrics, rugs, pillows, and wallpapers.
First opened in 1957 as The Home Furnishings Mart, the IHDC now features large front windows, convenient parking, a porte cochère with valet service, and a spacious reception area. It is part of Dallas Market Center’s three-building complex, which serves designers and buyers from across the U.S. and Latin America.
Dallas Market Center hosts many design events each year with groups like ASID, TAID, and the Interior Design Society. This year, it will welcome the national ASID conference, GATHER: Catalyst, showing its importance in the interior design world.
